I CAN'T BEAR IT!
Apr. 3rd, 2009 12:41 pmMy Workplace (Le Castle, I shall refer to it from now on) is hosting an antique book/print fair in the Drill Hall this weekend, and I don’t know if I’ve the words to convey to you, gentle readers, of just what a glorious sight it is to behold; to gaze down from the second floor balcony upon 200 vendors, toting wares of well-lit and lovingly organized antique maps, prints and books.
AND WHAT A STAB IN THE MOTHER LOVING HEART IT IS TO SEE AND NOT OWN.
I tried to take a little break and walk around to take in the sights, and had to beat a hasty retreat after 10 minutes. I mean, how would YOU fare if in 10 minutes’ time you had come across an 18th c. map of Dutch New York IN ITALIAN , a 17th-18th c. book detailing the English Gentleman’s Art of Sword-fighting, AND EVEN WORSE, a book from 1767 about MYTHICAL BEASTS AND MONSTERS?!?
*WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAILS!!*
A POX ON MONEY AND THE FACT I SHALL NEVER HAVE ENOUGH OF IT TO EVER ALLOW THE BUYING OF SUCH THINGS! A POX!!
