ink_n_impI'm getting quite weary of forgetting bits of plot/character/dialogue that I KNOW my brain once came up with, but that I can no longer recall. I've finally gotten into the habit of carrying pen and notebook with me where ever I go, but even that's not good enough; I need a gorram tape recorder or something. Or a pensieve. That would be the SHIT.
Like this, for example. I REALLY wish I remember the context I had cooked up for this wee bit of scene I wrote on a napkin and then transcribed into my notebook...
"Allow me to introduce myself! I'm Captain Asher Reade of the--"
But that was as far as she got, for every man and woman present had grabbed for whatever was the most weaponlike and had pointed it at Asher. Some of the objects were unsavory, but reasonable--some bottles, broken and whole, and what looked to be a bellows. Some weapons drawn were nastier, a few cutlasses and knives could be seen. But most unfortunate were the pistols that had been drawn and aimed at her--damned inaccurate things in her experience, but there were quite a few and at close range, enough to give even lucky Asher pause.
"Ah," she said with a swallow. "I see you have heard of me."
Heading up to the library for a bit before Newman Club begins. I've decided to rip the band-aid off and return all of my library books in one fell swoop. Well, nearly all of them, I still want to peruse the one about James Wilson. But the others are going, I swear it! And I'm not even going to go looking for new ones, honest! I will resist the siren call of the stacks, scout's honor!

*seriously hopes to get a second season of Dresden Files*
EDIT: And WOW...a Harry Potter theory that sort of fills me with glee at the thought. It'll never happen, but it still tickles my fancy. And besides, it's all centered around SOCKS!
