I mean to say, GOOD LORD!!!

The 1938 radio play broadcast of Chesterton's The Man Who Was Thursday is available ONLINE. FOR FREE.

GO!! GO MY PRETTIES!!

I LOVE this book. I mean, I love all that Chesterton's work, and while The Ball and the Cross is my favoritest favorite story of his (a devout but naive Scotch Catholic meets a passionate but naive Scotch atheist and they decide that the only way to prove the other wrong is to fight a duel to the death. Allegory ensues.), there is a very special place in my heart for Thursday, the little place in my heart that endeavors to one day do the Justice necessary to the original work to adapt it properly for the stage or the screen.

But Good Lord!! RADIO BROADCAST!!!

Eeee!

I love your summary of Ball and Cross...which I'm not positive I ever finished. *frowns* I can't remember, now. Shall have to pick it up again and make sure.

Also, The Man Who Was Thursday MUST be made into a Miyazaki film. It MUST, I tell you.

Oh LORD. I can just see it now. I can so easily see a montage of Gabriel's mad family, and his fall into sanity. :D

I've desperately wanted to draw more of Thursday, even of Ball & Cross, but for some reason the character designs for the characters from both elude me. And every once in a while I add a bit more to the play version of them I'm working on, but not nearly enough. One day...one day....*sighs wistfully*

I reread B&C pretty frequently, as it still has the ability to make me laugh aloud and smile like a loon on the subway, which is always a litmus test for me for a books readable. If I can't keep the smile or look of hunger from my face I as read it, it's a rereader!

SWEET. Tragically, I must wait till my home internets get set up to DL, but I guess this can just be one more reason for me to look forward. Especially because I'm trying to imagine how on earth they managed to make it comprehensible as a radio play.

I haven't finished it yet, so can't speak to it's quality yet, but I am enjoying what I've listened too so far ^_^
