1. Who is your ultimate OTP? (Fandom, literary, historical, whatever.)
John Adams/Thomas Jefferson/Abigail Adams. NO WAIT HEAR ME OUT. Ok, maybe not, I mean, my love for it is entirely cracky and tinhatty and yes yes, I'm not REALLY serious about it. I mean, and it's not like they've got the epic bff/later frenemy thing going on which is like COCAINE for me (which they totally did). But man, you've only got to read the bundles and bundles of letters they wrote. Or ponder the 3 week trip through the English countryside they took together THAT THEY NEVER MENTION AGAIN outside of Adams teasing Jefferson later about having falling to his knees in front of Shakespeare's home (though, yes, I AM hoping it involved hard cider, and English rain, and several comical misunderstanding regarding bovines). Or the fact that until Jefferson got all back stabby on John him and Abby were TOTALLY FASHION BBFS in England/France.

Or you know, that they both died on the 50th anniversary of the 4th of July, and that Adam's last words were "Thomas Jefferson survives" (which he totally hadn't, as he had died later that day. As I once pondered in a comic ^_^).

Seriously though, until I fell in love with John Adams, I HATED Jefferson. HATED. Now, he's finally grown on me, if only because John held in such high regard…much as he'd grumble about him as well.

2. What should you have done instead of going to college?
Finished a damned novel of mine, published the damned thing, became richer than Solomon (or mayhaps J.K. Rowling), became an amateur actor, and then went to college.

Cause I enjoyed college immensely, actually.

3. If you could travel to any period in history, what would it be and why?
I have an intense keenness to poke my nose into Revolutionary era New York, and Dutch New Amsterdam. Or really, any area pre-settling, just to see what it must have looked like. Though, I have a desire to meet Chesterton as well, which requires late 19th- early 20th century.

4. Alcoholic beverage most likely to get you knocked up/your organs stolen.
When I find it, I'll let you know? It would probably be something that would hit me when I least expected it, like, champagne or something.

5. Kirk or Picard? Why?
KIRK. OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN.

Ok, ASIDE from the fact he's played by The Shat, I love Kirk's character. I love his rather tragic back story (AHHH SURVIVED STARVATION AND GENOCIDE IN HIS TEENS!). I love who he obviously holds dear. I love how he QUICKLY he can understand shit's gone down and think up a good stall tactic (Mirror Mirror!), I love how much of an awesome bullshit artist he is (Fizzbin, anyone? Though, McCoy could TOTES give him a run for him money in that department though…). I love how he continually toes the line between what breaks the Prime Directive and what doesn't and ALWAYS COMES OUT SMELLING LIKE ROSES (unless it's the Temporal Prime Directive. 17 VIOLATIONS!) I love how quick he is to throw himself into any situation he'd send a crew member into (except he survives).

It's lonely on the top, but Kirk makes it look easy. Also, I do have an INCREDIBLE FONDNESS for how much he uses sex as a tool. Seriously, I feel like people totally miss how many times he hits on/is hit on by an alien, and the entire FEEL of the scene on Kirk's end of things is "Lie back and think of Starfleet" (I point towards Catspaw for proof). The man has issues. Serious ones. And I love him for them because for Kirk, it's not what made you, but what you make of it. Which is why he and Spock and Bones don't know JACK of each other's back stories (like, oh Spock, you have a brother, or, McCoy, oh, you killed your daddy lol) and lives previous to Starfleet—because that doesn't matter. All that matters is the here, and now, and what's out there beyond the stars.

Yea, I would be proud to serve under James T. Kirk. NOT LIKE THAT. Ok, maybe like that. Just a little. But at least put me in science blue, pls? After all, Kirk loves his boys/ladies in blue.
