LOOOOOONG time no update
Sep. 17th, 2006 11:50 pmWhat a week, what a WEEK!
Tonight I had to pull a McGuyver in my kitchen, seeing as I had no soy sauce for stir fry. I wish to inform the world that beef and broccoli cooked in butter, Hazelnut extract and coconut rum, is not only serviceable, but damn tasty too. Will definitely have to save that combination for the future.
Highs and lows this week, more so than other weeks it seems. Lows? Mid week drinking because of the CAST auditions...which I didn't get into. Ah, rejection, my old friend. But yes, One To Many liquid courages later and I was going to Italian the next day still intoxicated, which hasn't happened since MAV (a.k.a. Mornin' After Valentine's). But, still intoxicated is definitely a better sensation than hung-over, as a splitting headache is replaced by stomach churning hunger, which is easily fixable. So I had something to be grateful for.
Lowest of the lows however, for Ian is leaving for Vienna tomorrow!! We had his going-away/birthday shindig on Saturday, and a good time was had by all, but I'm going to miss him terribly. After actually seeing the old boy on a fairly regular basis this summer, I've gotten use to having him around rather than losing all contact with him for severaly months at a time as he "visits" other countries--which is really just code for "They lied to you when they said the Cold War was over. Ian's a spy working behind the Iron Curtain. Seriously."
So Ian, remember: no getting captured by the Russians. I'm going to need you for that diplomats' Benz when I escape from the Nazis with their priceless artifact that they plan to use to Destroy the World. You can drive. I call shotgun.
But no more of that! Let us talk of happier things! Like swing dancing at the NYU swing club! I went to the beginner's lesson, and it was so much fun! So, I got to learn the Lead's part, so if you ever need a lead, Nella's your man.
And! Not only was today one of those amazingly gorgeous Manhattan days were it's deliciously warm and there's a breeze and the sun is blazing and the park over by City Hall smells like only fresh-cut, sun soaked grass came smell like, with some flowers thrown in for good measure, and the Financial District is a little slice of heaven, and you WISH TO GOD you had had the time to cross the Brooklyn Bridge--I hoofed it up to Chinatown, met up with
cherrysher and
singealiene, and bought the fabric for my Merriweather costume for Halloween. That's right, the posse's going to the Halloween parade as the cast from Disney's Sleeping Beauty, and I get to be the angry fairy godmother, the blue one. XD
Well, that's all I've got to say about that. Tinkery Tot!
