Nella gets a German tonight! Well, make that more like my friend Heather needs a place for her friend Heinrich (I wonder if that even how his name is spelled) to crash for the night, and I have a soft spot in my heart for foreign friends of friends who need a floor/couch/bed for the night.
My mask for the Christmahannakwanical Masquerade Cabaret Spectacular festivities my friends are throwing tomorrow night is underway, and it is looking FABULOUS. As I always HATE how store bought masks fit my face, and as I wanted a comedy mask to wear, rather than the traditional "meh" masks one finds, I've decided to make my own from scratch. I molded the basic shape of the mask by throwing the biggest shit-eating grin on my face as humanly possible, and then putting the strips of plaster paper directly on top. I was rather shocked by how easily the plaster came off (and now my face is oh so soft and feels so...exfoliated!) and how well it has kept the shape. Now I just have to keep layering plaster on it after it dries for strength, and shape the eyes and the edges. I'm a touch impatient for tomorrow, so I can run up to 96th street and paint it the appropriate black, white or grey. Then, don my grey top hat, black coattails, grey pants, white kid gloves, and black corset, and just bask in the awesomeness of my costume for a bit.
In continuing the 12 Songs For Christmas, I bring to your attention a mix of two Christmas songs very dear to me, and preformed by Sarah McLachlan and The Barenaked Ladies.
4) God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings
