CLARITIN update.
Feb. 21st, 2004 01:06 pmI figured I'd do a quickie update of last night's events before Carrie shows up.
So I ventured into the deep unknown that is the upper west side, but whatever you do, don't tell John. I'll never hear the end of it from him about how much more superior the Upper west side is than the lower east, which I often beg to differ. But anywho...
So I went up to Columbia last night to meet for the first time with CLARITIN!, a new improv group that Ian and Ed created. Because it was an optional meeting I didn't get to meet any new faces in the group, but instead spend the evening yoga-ing and improving with Ian, Ed and Yish (and you better pronounce it 'Ish'!). Definately a fun bunch, and it relly felt good to be acting again. We did some basic improve exercises, since we're trying to work our way up to long form improv. I felt really rusty improving, but there was some really awesome energy and we definately got some good laughs, especially when my catholic self was "made-over" by the Mother Goddess and one of her followers. Interestingly enough, the only masculine character that any of us created ended up hog-tied at the end of the sketch. *grin*
Oh...and you CAN make a story about "blueberries". I swear.
So then afterwards, I was starving and the others peckish, so we went searching for so grub. It's funny, but while I'm in the city I only eat Indian food after 10:30 pm. I rocked some chutney and some chicken curry and some naah, solidifying the night as "w00t!"
....Impressive. I wrote all that and Carrie still hasn't called. Must be stuck in traffic...
