I WANT this dress. I don't even know if I'd even look half way decent in it, but I WANT IT SO BAD I CAN TASTE IT.

OH WHHHHHHHHHY must it be online? And so much money? I just can't bring myself to measure myself, order it, and hope for the best. But I know myself too well, I NEVER look good in the clothing I want to look good in. I CAN'T BEAR TO HAVE MY HEART TOYED WITH LIKE THAT, YOU GUYS.

I've seen people post this a few times in the last couple of days and I remember thinking NELLA WOULD WEAR THAT.

It is fabulous.

IT IS FABULOUS.

UGH I've never ordered clothes online before. I think I'll wait for my like, second paycheck, or something before I seriously consider sinking that much money into something that I haven't even tried on yet.

The worst part is, I would SO buy it...just to wear it for my Agent Anachronism sketches. *HEADDESK*

Well y'know, I have a sewing machine... and I worked in a fabric shop for five years... and I'm out of practice but y'know if you were here... and we could find a decent pattern...

Heh, none on just hopes the style would work as well ^_^;;;

Ah well. Let's see how I feel after a paycheck or two. Just never bought clothes online before. There's something that feels intrinsically wrong about spending that much money on something I haven't tried on, EVEN if their return policy is (supposedly!) AMAZING.

FWIW, Modcloth's return policy is pretty reasonable. Can't really help you on the "so much money" front, though.

*drools after dress*

Who knows, maybe after a paycheck. Or five. We shall see. Maybe the heavens will open up and it'll go on sale?...maybe?

Bueller?

H'm. Actually... you might pull that dress off really well, sans that silly belt. The forties and fifties silhouettes tend to look nice on most people.

There's also some lovely things at Daddy-O's (http://www.daddyos.com/retro/retroldy.html), though the sizes only go up to 1x (42-34-46, which doesn't seem very 1x to me).

Have you tried Torrid? And there's always the famous Butterick Walk-Away Dress (http://vintagepatterns.wikia.com/wiki/Butterick_6015), or other vintage patterns. The 1940s silhouette is not very easy to sew, but it's gorgeous and I've found scads of patterns for dress suits and things.

I suppose it all depends on if it actually is fitted correctly in the right places. ARGH I would just SO spring for the appropriate undergarments for that dress, too!

Although, I NEED to attempt that walk-away dress! It looks so cute! I smell a project!

I think that'd actually look really great! It's an awesome cut. Shoot, I want it, but it'd definitely be too small. *weeps* I love ModCloth's stuff, I've ordered a couple jewelry pieces from them and I'm really happy with them. Don't know about clothing, but I've read some reviews of their swimming suits online and heard only good things. :)

I'm so bad.... I'll always say "do ittt!!!", but I really do mean it this time!

I've a friend who always has stellar luck with the clothes from modclothes, but clothes shopping is always such a pain in the ass for me--there's just something that feels intrinsically wrong about spending that much on something I haven't tried on, EVEN if the return policy is amazing!

I just need to take my measurements and compare them. See if it would actually fit like a dress like that is suppose to.

We Shall See.

Oh, I think you'd look super-cute in that.

...I may buy one myself. >_>; Although IDK that collar/shoulder area might look like ass on me.

That's really pretty though :( Also I hate you a lot right now because I just spent 20 minutes staring at modcloth and I may have to buy this (http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Dresses/Printed/Open+Shutter+Shift+Dress). Except it's almost as much money and I already wear way too many belted outfits. BUT LOOK HOW PRETTY IT IS. ;_____;
