So, it may take a village to raise a child, but I'd also like to think it takes a few kind souls to prod an would-be author into finishing something.

NANOWRIMO FAST APPROACHES!--and methinks this year, I will make a Nano writing filter for my lj. SHOCKING I KNOW. But I am declaring my intention, because I want to know if anyone wants on said filter, either because you're nano-ing as well, or you just want to see what it is my wicked and slightly-used-and-worn-around-the-edges-but-still-serviceable brain can come up with on a little sleep and lots of caffeine.

So, comment if you want on the Nano filter, and are ok with putting up with my nano-nonsense. AND DON'T WORRY--I'm not going to be insulted if you don't want on it. SERIOUSLY. But I won't put you on it unless you're ok with me spamming your f-list with (...hopefully) daily posts.

In other news, I spent this evening making my nano binder. I found that I'm most successful with Nano when I get creative. Or, just surround myself with things that keep my brain interested in the tale I'm concocting. in 2005, it was drawings I came up with for my tale. In 2007, it was the drawings, AND a themed binder and soundtrack. So, as I don't fix things that ain't broke, I've been doodling, and my binder it ready to be filled to the brim with my 2009 Novel!

BUT...I do ask a boon from all of you on my f-list. You see, I need a writing soundtrack. Badly. I've only got about 4 songs on it so far: two version of "March of the Wooden Soldiers", a march for Company B from my workplace (dated 1880ish), and some songs from La Vita E Bella.

If you'd be SO kind...

If you have anything that feels/screams/suggests a fairy!tale!Ozian! young adult adventure comedy with thrills, chills, orphans, wooden soldiers, bogeys, krumpus, dark woods, deep caves, tricks, lies, job loss, house foreclosure, families-what-are-constructed-not-born, crooked men, silly kings, brother/sister biffles, toymakers, town-shakers, candlestick-makers, would-be murderers and near misses, boys-who-can-not-shudder, sensible girls with sheep, balls of string, well-made tools, china-doll girls and puppet boys, reluctant generals, a dash of romance, a helping of absurdity and a couple of Tweedles!--

...Oddly enough, Scott Joplin works a little too well for all the above.

But if would be so kind as to share what songs you have with me--well, I have nothing to give but gratitude, but REST ASSURED I have gratitude in SPADES. SPADES I TELL YOU.
