holy shit...MAJOR blast from the PAST

ink_n_impI've been on a MAJOR Phantom of the Opera kick because of the movie looming in the distance. It is a fandom dear to my heart, even though until this week I had been sorely ignoring it. It was probably my first true fandom, and my first obessive area to check at FanFiction.net. Phan Phiction was the gateway drug of fanfiction for me. In a way I both curse and thank it--curse it for the hours and hours of my life it's taken, for the HORRIBLE writing I've produced for it, for the countless Mary Sues that have been born from MY PEN because of it. I came out of those fan fiction years, I hope a little wiser when it comes to writing. I would rather chop off my right hand that ever produce such CRAP again. Ugh...I shutter at the thought.
But LO! There was light, even in the darkness! You all must know of the tale of how I met my present roommate thanks to Phantom of the Opera fan fiction, back when fanfiction.net had category forums. Oh, the posting we did! My god, we had a HUGE thread dedicated to the many ways Erik might kill Raoul with Christine's damnable red scarf! The books I read because of phandom: the orginal Phantom, Susan Kaye's Phantom, and the first Terry Pratchett I ever read, Maskerade!
But this post is in memory to L'ange de la Nuit, singe aliene de piano, and angie the flying dork. Do you remember the first adventure of the Phantastic Phans, where we fought against a puny, Jareth-esque Raoul with the equally disturbing boner AND ending in our respective torture chambers?! How we completely and utterly dismembered Erik in our own love and phan-girlnicity?
Do you Remember POTPAFOP, or Phriends of the Phantom Against the Fop?
Do you remember WWAD, or Worthier Women Against the Ditz?
Hell, do you even remember our brief flirtation with FSVAPA, or Frodo's Sweet Virgin Ass Protection Association?
And do ANY of you remember what FASICMS stood for, cause I sure as hell don't!!
