FOOOOOOOOOOOD
Nov. 22nd, 2008 12:45 pmOn my list of Foods-that-Prove-that-God-Loves-Us-and-Wants-Us-to-Be-Happy, I have just Nominated, Voted, and Approved of Cabbage taking its rightful position at Number 2. (Number 1, of course, being Butternut Squash.)
After a late night last night, watching Disney movies and sleeping in a GOD AWFULLY DRY AND HOT ROOM, this was not a Nella in the Best of Spirits. But, after a purchase of a cabbage head at the Union Sq. Farmers' Market, I've just made a soup of a fourth of that cabbage head, one small potato, and one small onion, various spices to taste, and not only is it DELICIOUS, and made me feel better on the first spoonful, but there's still two more bowls worth in the pot.
I still have 3/4s of a cabbage to have my wicked way with.
What a marvelous, glorious foodstuff!!
This soup, and a pot of blueberry green tea with orange blosson honey, and I don't think even Jeeves' Marvelous Restorative could have made me feel so like my jolly self again.
